Crafting a Campaign

When crafting a campaign, develop a theme around a specific need. Here are some examples:

“Our goal is to raise $20,000 to help purchase Smart Boards for each classroom at our school.”

“Your donation will fund eye exams and glasses for kids who qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.”

“Every $20 raised allows us to provide one hour of training for one dog to become a service animal.”

Follow these tips to ensure your campaign is successful.

  1. Create a strong message – Focus on a clear, consistent message (across channels and social platforms) that people care about: “Give to the Max – Impact a life forever, today.” 
  2. Make it easy to share – Create a shareable video that spotlights the impact, with links embedded to take viewers to your organization’s donate page. Or stage a YouTube donor takeover week of, directing every visitor to your organization’s donate page to schedule or make a gift from your homepage.
  3. Start early – Start promoting your Give to the Max day campaign early. Offer donors the chance to sign-up for a newsletter and other updates.
  4. Schedule gifts – Actively promote Give to the Max Day giving.
  5. Leverage matches – Recruit major donors or your board to set matching gifts and hype in your campaign.
  6. Leverage friend networks – Promote a peer-to-peer campaign. Create a branded template that allows supporters to create their own donation webpages to raise funds for you from their personal networks.
  7. Website/Social Media – Make a serious effort to improve your website and use social media channels more strategically.
  8. Thank donors!
